Wide Awake Films has produced a new episode of Secrets of the Dead for PBS. This episode, titled "The Civil War's Lost Massacre", debuts on October 23, 2024 on PBS.
Amidst much celebration and fanfare, the newly updated Congressional Medal of Honor Society Museum in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, opened its doors over the Memorial Day weekend. Aboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CV-10) at Patriot’s Point, this newly updated museum incorporates immersive media, film, and interactive content designed and produced by Wide Awake Films.
Wide Awake Films announced today that their interactive film experience “Step Into History” has won an Anthem Award in the category of “Digital and Innovative Experiences.” Created in collaboration with the American Battlefield Trust, “Step Into History,” explores the stories behind the Civil War’s most famous photographs, inviting viewers into a 360 degree historical world.
Working with our partner, The American Battlefield Trust, we are proud to announce the release of our newest “Step In” presentation - this one on Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Our Step-In videos blend together historic photos and modern VR videography, into an immersive experience that highlights the power of place.
The National Park Service will partner with Wide Awake Films, historical filmmakers from Kansas City, to create a new interpretive film for Hot Springs National Park. Now in production, the film will showcase the natural beauty and wonder of the hot springs, as well as the rich cultural history of the region.
Wide Awake Films is excited to announce that it has been selected by museum exhibit design firm M.Catton & Company, LLC. as the primary media and interactive development partner for the newly renovated Medal of Honor Museum on the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point in South Carolina.
Global documentary streaming service MagellanTV has partnered with the American Battlefield Trust – an organization that preserves historic battle sites and offers education on their significance – and producer Wide Awake Films for Battlefield America: The Civil War, a six-part original docuseries that will explore the crucial battles that determined the outcome of the Civil War.
"The 29th Connecticut" is a short documentary film about the eleven African-American soldiers who enlisted near Berlin, Connecticut, during the American Civil War. The film will screen at the 2023 Mystic Film Festival in Mystic, CT, October 19-21st.
