Wide Awake Films to Produce Hot Springs National Park Film
KANSAS CITY – The National Park Service will partner with Wide Awake Films, historical filmmakers from Kansas City, to create a new interpretive film for Hot Springs National Park. Now in production, the film will showcase the natural beauty and wonder of the hot springs, as well as the rich cultural history of the region. Wide Awake Films will also create a welcome video for the park and an online explainer video that gives an overview of the park’s underground thermal water system. The films will premiere at Hot Springs National Park in the fall of 2025.
Wide Awake Films creates award-winning historical and educational films for museums, streaming platforms, and broadcast. Known for their prowess in historical and educational filmmaking, Wide Awake Films is honored to collaborate with NPS and Hot Springs staff. “We’re thrilled to embark on our first National Park Service project,” said founder and owner Shane Seley. “We’re looking forward to exploring the stories of Hot Springs and expanding the important message of conservation.”
Hot Springs is one of the oldest National Parks in America, located just south of Little Rock, Arkansas. The park boasts 47 natural springs and 30 miles of hiking trails through the nearby Ouachita Mountains. Local events include an annual Hot Springs Water Festival, which highlights the importance of water conservation.
