360° Experience

The Shot Heard Round The World: Experience Lexington & Concord in 360°

Building upon our groundbreaking Civil War 1864 VR Experience, the American Battlefield Trust asked us to develop a new scripted VR experience focused on the 1775 Battles of Lexington & Concord.

The Shot Heard Round The World | Experience Lexington & Concord in 360° is an immersive film created in collaboration with the American Battlefield Trust to honor the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. This VR 360° experience drops viewers into the tension, confusion, and courage of April 19, 1775—the day the first shots were fired. The story unfolds through a diverse cast of fictional characters whose perspectives are inspired by real people of the time. It’s not just a lesson in history—it’s a front-row seat to its ignition.

To bring 1775 to life, our crew filmed on location in Lexington and Concord, then layered in a stylized dreamworld through green screen shoots and visual effects. Historic sites became the stage for reenactments. Every shot was crafted with 360° storytelling in mind—thinking not about where to place the camera, but how to direct the audience’s attention inside a living, breathing moment of revolution.

Garry Adelman, Chief Historian at the American Battlefield Trust

“It may have been 250 years ago, but our VR production makes it feel like it's happening today and right around you. With Wide Awake, we always feel like we are pioneering new and cool ways for today’s generations to connect with these historic battles and battlefields.”

A look at our process from storyboards to the final product:

Lexington & Concord reimagines how we teach and experience history—swapping textbooks for time travel and turning passive learning into active discovery. With fictionalized characters representing real colonial voices, and a narrator guiding the action, this VR experience balances emotional storytelling with educational impact. Built for classrooms, museums, and curious minds alike, it invites viewers not just to learn history—but to feel it.
