Job Overview
Wide Awake Films is seeking a Post Production Generalist (Contract) to support editorial workflows, media organization, and post-production operations.
This role acts as a utility position within the post team, assisting editors, motion designers, and archival staff with media management, rough edits, and emerging AI workflows.
The role supports the post-production team, helping maintain an efficient and organized production pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Support:
Ingest and organize project media
Prepare and manage project files for editors
Assemble string-outs and rough cuts
Export and manage project versions
Archive Support:
Assist with organizing archival footage and historical media
Work with the archive team to locate and prepare materials
Help maintain organized media libraries
AI Workflow & Support:
Assist with exploring and implementing AI tools that support post-production
Support workflow improvements and pipeline efficiencies
General Post Support:
Assist editors and motion designers with project preparation
Maintain organized media structures across projects
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects
Strong media organization and workflow discipline
Comfort working with large media libraries
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI tools for media workflows
Basic After Effects experience
Editing experience in documentary or narrative content
Interest in historical storytelling
Typical Hours
Approximately 10–25 hours per week depending on project load
Flexible scheduling coordinated with the editorial team
Compensation will be determined based on experience, skill level, and the scope of the engagement.
Contract Structure & Potential for Long-Term Role
This position is structured as a contract engagement, designed to support active projects within Wide Awake Films’ production pipeline.
Contractors will typically work a set number of hours per week or month, depending on project needs and availability. This role is not initially structured as a full-time position but offers consistent project-based work within our studio’s post-production team.
Initial contracts may run 1–3 months, with the possibility of extensions up to 6 months depending on project timelines.
For the right candidate, this role may evolve into a longer-term or full-time opportunity as the studio continues to grow and expand its production capacity.
