Juniper Gardens – Connecting with Autism
Designed to help children with autism integrate into society, each part of this series focuses on a different age group: Kids, Teens and Parents.
Connecting Kids aims at helping non-autistic elementary school children understand what autism is and teaches them how to interact with autistic kids in a positive way: celebrating and encouraging instead of bullying.
Connecting Teens does the same thing for middle school and high school students, but also features on-camera interviews with real autistic teens as they share the challenges and realities of growing up with a developmental disorder.
Connecting Parents offers heartfelt advice and comfort to parents with a newly-diagnosed child from parents who understand the fear, anxieties and triumphs firsthand.
