New Series Announced: Battlefield America

KANSAS CITY – Global documentary streaming service MagellanTV has partnered with the American Battlefield Trust – an organization that preserves historic battle sites and offers education on their significance – and producer Wide Awake Films for Battlefield America: The Civil War, a six-part original docuseries that will explore the crucial and brutal battles that determined the outcome of the Civil War.

Focusing on a different battle in each episode – including The Battles of Shiloh, Antietam, Vicksburg, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, and the multi-battle Overland Campaign. Battlefield America: The Civil War will highlight the chain of events surrounding each of these historic Civil War clashes, as well as the key military leaders and soldiers involved, revealing how each event changed the course of the war and American history.

The series will utilize state-of-the-art animated maps, commissioned by the American Battlefield Trust, complemented by aerial views of the battlefields today, to reconstruct the movement of the troops, the tactical decisions made by generals, and the crucial role these unique landscapes played during each battle. Featuring on-site interviews with world-renowned historians, who have spent their lives studying these battles and researching the people who fought in them, viewers will get an in-depth insight into the soldiers’ experiences, the generals’ challenges and considerations, and the importance of each conflict.

Battlefield America: The Civil War is produced by Wide Awake Films for MagellanTV, in association with the American Battlefield Trust. Michael Mavretic and Shane Seley are producing for Wide Awake Films.
